A Fluttering

Fluttering
joy encapsulated
wrapped in a blanket
tiny and warm

Trusting
fingers enclosing
hearts entwining
forever bonded

Laughter
memories created
eternally engraved
etched deeply

Tears
hurts healed
arms encircling
wounds tended

Dreams
trips planned
desires revealed
a life unfolding

Detachment
closed doors
trial and error
independence emerging

Watching
deep yearning
to heal and help
and redirect

Hoping
lessons learned
knowledge consumed
happiness endures

Longing
easy hugs
table side chats
joyful laughter

Waiting
rare emails
brief visits
birthday calls

Joy
a happy union
commencing
a new journey

Elation
image given
infant arriving
hearts expanding

Life
an endless cycle
of love that starts
with a fluttering
