I Shall Rise

When I’ve fallen,
I shall rise;
time and time again,
to stand,
stand in the face of defeat
and try once more.

I rise with hope in my heart,
for hope is eternal;
coming on the wings
of a promise;
a promise of something better,
something joyous.

And when the enemy calls
I shall shine;
shine like the burning sun,
full of hope and love;
a warrior of Christ
casting darkness away.

I am not perfect,
I am ever a child learning;
a child of God,
and of the light;
yes, I will fall
but always I shall rise.
