Into Myself

Into myself, I go
searching
wandering

Where is she
the girl
who laughed
and loved freely?

She is hidden
unseen
invisible

I will find her
the girl
who dreamed
and lived fiercely

I miss her
completely
intensely

There she is
still smiling
not hiding
or even lost

She is within always
waiting
accessible

I welcome her
the girl
the woman
always within me

I will free her
entirely
easily

And, if I should lose her
once more
I’ll journey
back into myself.
