We All Need A Break

If we don’t rest, we will run ourselves ragged and then be forced to stop. No one is immune, we all need to rest and at some point we all need a break.

Rest replenishes and restores us, mentally, physically and spiritually. When we don’t rest we begin to make mistakes, little ones at first but then bigger ones.

Everyone of us, with no exception, needs to rest our minds and body. If we don’t they eventually start to quit on us, independent of our desire to continue. Instead of functioning properly everything starts to dysfunction.

Without the proper rest, our brain becomes foggy and our thoughts muddled. We become confused and cannot figure out solutions for simple problems. This causes us frustration and sometimes we even become angry.

Without proper rest and nourishment our bodies begin to also not function properly. If we continue moving, without stopping to take a break, our legs become weak and unable to carry us. We must take a break and rest before continuing.

Some people need to work harder and longer than others. Their bodies are conditioned to the long, hard, laborious hours but they too eventually need a break. They need to rest completely, and fully, in order to recharge their batteries. One looks forward to vacations because they need a break in one way or another.

It is true we can condition our bodies to go farther, longer and to be stronger but if pushed past the limits, our bodies will break. They will not carry us where we want to go, no matter how strong the desire.

Likewise, our Spirit, if continually battered with negativity, dark environments, and ugliness, can diminish. We need time to be quiet and replenish so our light can shine brightly. When we don’t take this time, we can lose ourselves and the purpose for which we were born because we start to get disconnected from our true source.

Sometimes, the break we need is with, or without people. A day with the girls, or a game with the boys can be a perfect break, filled with laughter. A day by ourselves to be quiet and read, meditate or just be lazy, eases our stress.

No matter where in the world you live, be it Greenland, Africa, Asia, the America’s, the Islands, etc., everyone of us needs to rest. The reality is, that at times, we all need a break.
