Give Thanks And Be Joyful

It is easy to get lost in the world’s worries, but do not forget to give thanks and be joyful.

There are many things to be thankful for, even in a time of worry. Waking up each day is a gift that should never be taken for granted. Being able to look out the window, go for a walk, or the ability to call and talk to a friend in a time of need. Some people can’t do these things, or they can, but with incredible difficulty.

Sometimes, it seems as if people are looking only at the big things to give thanks for. The truth is that lasting joy is found in all the small moments. Every day is a gift that should be counted as a blessing.

Do not get so busy or tied up with your life that you take things, or people, for granted. Stop and look around you for a few moments and notice what you have.

Even shelter is a basic necessity that some do not have. Perhaps you have pictures on the wall or table that hold memories for you. Give a little prayer of thanks for these things; for the people, trips and things that bring you joy, have a grateful heart.

Difficult times, while prolonged at times, do not last. Everything in this life is a phase. A phase that we usually break down into years that we count off as we journey.

Don’t be so busy looking forward or back that you miss out on the gifts surrounding you now. The more you look for blessings and things that make you happy, the more joyful you will become.

Never forget to give thanks. Every day say a prayer of thanksgiving for all you have been given. If it helps, list out the blessings of the day that you can think of. When you struggle to find something to be thankful for, give thanks for the day itself, or perhaps the strength God gave you to get through another day.

Times will be challenging, and sadness will occur. This is part of life, but remember always to give thanks and be joyful.
