You clean houses and cars, shower and bathe, so it only goes that you should also make time for an internal cleanse.
Just like anything else we need to look within and do some ‘spring cleaning’ if you will. We carry many excess emotions and scars with us, often forgetting to purge them. Instead, hanging on like we can’t live without them.
Some things must be let go of. We feel them, experience them and then let them go. They served us, made us grow, or made us contemplate life. Look at them, thank them for whatever lesson was taken and release them.
When you hold on to too many old hurtful emotions they can make you bitter, often angry. It is better to forgive whoever or whatever hurt you and let it go. You’ll be more at peace and thank yourself for doing it.
Just like clothes that are too small or too big, we outgrow some of our emotions. Trying to hang on to painful memories because we don’t want to forgive someone just means we are too angry to forgive. When we purge the anger and pain and release it we find that there is more room for joy.
If your burdens are heavy you can always ask God to carry them. He is strong enough and will gladly do it for you. You must let go of it though for him to do it and not try to take it back.
Once you start cleaning the house inside, you will come to realize how much better you feel. You can look at people who hurt you without emotion. In fact, more often than not, you can see how small and insignificant everything is in the big picture.
I find after forgiving what some call ’unforgivable’, I find myself feeling sorry for the person who hurt me. I can see they are in pain themselves and the only way they can think to end it is by causing pain to another. It allows me to look at them without emotion and as such, they lose all power over me. This is the gift of forgiveness; a gift given to us freely as an example and hope of something better.
Take some quiet time for yourself and look inside. Visit your memories and emotions, finding the painful ones, or ones that cause a negative emotion. Once you find them, get rid of them so you have room for something new.
Always look after yourself and the next time you are cleaning remember to make time for an internal cleanse.

Great analogy. We do need to allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse us. Great posting! Blessings to you!
