I walked on
through the gate
to the unknown
The mist rising in the distance
draping over everything
a magical veil
waiting to embrace me
The watchers looked on
as if unsure I would continue
or perchance,
afraid I would turn back
I turned back
and studied them
for a brief moment
a shiver ran through me
urging me to return
from whence I came
Alas, no
twas not meant to be
and so I walked on
in my solitude
into the unknown
into the veil of the mist
