History Does Not Determine Your Destiny

You Can a Change Your Path

Your history does not determine your destiny. While you can’t change your past you can change habits and actions of the past that you don’t like. Moving forward you can change how you approach things, today, tomorrow and the next.

Know and believe that your past does not define you. See it as a stepping stone into your future. Whether good or bad, it is always the starting point and never the ending.

History is like a compass, when used correctly it can warn against repeating the same mistakes and point us onto a better path. Today and every day moving forward you get to choose the type of person you want to be.

It comes down to choice, your choice. You can keep doing the wrong things or you can learn the lesson and move on. Some things we are taught, knowledge and behaviour passes down generation after generation. But, when what is passed down is based in hatred, or belief that we are above and better than any other, we need to make a better choice for ourselves.

Tomorrow is yet to be determined, the path is up to you. There comes a time for the racist, self-serving lessons to be thrown out. It is time for all of us to unite and say ‘enough’. Then and only then can the path forward be one of kindness and compassion, honesty and love. When you choose these, your light shines bright and you will be more in line with your authentic self.

History gives strong examples of what hatred, racism and thievery breeds. The example is there, not for us to imitate but so that we don’t forget. As a people we are evolving and while it is hard to fathom that we still haven’t eradicated racism, we must continue to work to that end. There is no place in society for these. Once we understand this we are that much closer to a peaceful world.

If you have made poor choices, let it go; don’t let your past define you. Tomorrow is yet to be determined, the path is up to you. Always remember that your history does not determine your destiny.
