For in this world
of triumphs and sorrows,
I stand freely,
and fully in faith.
Surrounded in light,
an unending love
washes over me,
holding me upright.
I shall not yield,
nor tread the slippery slopes
of those dark souls
lurking in the night.
Though sorrow weeps
through my very veins,
only love, and gratitude
will I carry on my breast.
Forgiveness swirls,
cleansing anger and pain,
abating agony’s grip
on a weary, broken heart.
For His was the gift,
greatly given to all
willing to embrace
His joyous, wondrous light.
So, here I stand,
a simple sinner,
woven by the master,
engraved on His palm.
Willingly, I stand
amidst the storm,
with Spirit’s armour,
a skin of love secure.
For in this world
of triumphs and sorrow,
I stand freely,
and fully in faith.
