Oh, how my heart weeps,
tears carried on the wind;
the storm, a haven
hiding me away from the world.
“Weep not, my child.
I am with you.
Mine, a love greater,
deeper than any other.”
The moon shines,
a reminder to share my light;
the stars wait,
for whispered wishes.
The day beckons,
new are you, it utters,
as butterflies flutter,
across the broken pieces of my soul.
“Trust in me, my child.
Sorrow is not forever.
My love stands,
an eternity it bears.”
Oh, my Lord,
how great thou art;
that the heavens
could wrap me in its joy.
Yours, a love everlasting.
In this I trust;
for what is death,
but a promise of life.
Take from me
this sorrow, which drowns;
heal the brokenness
flying on the enemy’s wings.
Let peace alight anew,
resting softly upon my soul.
In you, I trust.
You alone are my salvation.
Let the rain wash away
sorrows tears;
as each dawn rises,
reviving hope in rebirth.
Never shall I yield
to the enemy;
even when flesh
weakens and shrivels.
Hope will I carry.
Your light will I shine;
faith, my shield, my armour,
against the enemy’s darkness.
My own cross I carry,
carved from tears,
sin, and hurtful words.
May I bear it well.
Oh, my Lord,
forgive sorrow’s swell,
rising from a mother’s heart,
hiding in the drops of rain.
Grateful am I,
for tears reflecting love,
as love bears you,
on wings of faith and hope.
Grant me strength,
to endure the impossible,
leave me not,
for without you, I am nothing.
Yes, my heart weeps,
for one walking in darkness,
hear my prayer, a mother’s plea,
and then, let thy will be done.
