In silent sorrow
I watch others
passing me by
while I sit
in soulful observation
In silent sorrow
I bear the scars
and pain
from wounds
that never fully heal
In silent sorrow
I weep
for what was
and wasn’t
and what could‘ve been
In silent sorrow
I always smile
hiding my tears
forcing laughter
where tears would fall
In silent sorrow
I carry the burdens
and feel the pain
of a world
gone awry
In silent sorrow
I found myself
and lose myself
building and tearing down
barriers that separate
In silent sorrow
I pray
reaching for hope
knowing salvation
is mine to be had
In silent sorrow
I learn
and grow
strengthened by love
and faith
In silent sorrow
I fall
and rise again
standing ever strong
in silent sorrow.
