Release Me

Release me
into the wind
to fly free
to land anew
and grow and bloom

Release me
from old emotions
rolling on tidal waves
slamming the shore
leaving behind
all my broken pieces

Release me
into the wild
where I can run
and laugh
without reserve

Release me
from ties that bind
and pain that burns
and hearts that hurt
from broken love

Set me free
and watch me soar
to return anon
with open heart
and arms spread wide

Only then will you see
only then will you know
what a gift you give
when you decide to trust
and release me
