Today I am tired,
but for you I will write;
of eternal grace,
and the power of sight.
A sight from within,
not from the eyes;
a vision of spirit,
unveiling the disguised.
Of humility and kindness
needed for all;
of love for everyone,
both big and small.
Of the Spirit who walks,
along at my side;
reminding not to be boastful,
or filled with unflattering pride.
Who brightens the darkness,
and steers when I’m wrong;
who feeds me the words,
for the unwritten song.
Of a God who is patient,
when I desire a break;
and a Saviour who forgives,
when I make a mistake.
His unending grace,
given unto to me;
His light He has planted,
and I am the tree.
The storms I can weather,
with Him by my side;
hanging on for dear life,
as I drift in the tide.
I know He is there,
and will do what’s best;
knowing when to push,
or when I need rest.
So, yes though today I am tired,
His arms hold me up;
His words flowing through me,
for I am the cup.
If anything you take,
from the words written here;
may it be that He is with you,
and present, year after year.
