Oh, prepareth my soul,
that I might be cleansed.
Light of the world,
alight within me anew,
that I might shine
unto all I meet.
Make me humble,
so as not to be above another.
Secure my faith,
that it will hold fast,
and ever prevail
against the strongest of storms.
Let evil pass me by,
that I may save another.
Oh, Creator, most holy,
bless me this day;
allow thy angels to watch over,
protecting me from evils I cannot see.
Turn not your gaze from me,
should I fail, yet forgive me.
Provide my heart with charity,
that I can release the burdens
of the ages, forgiving past harms,
as you have forgiven me.
Oh, Heavenly Host,
nourish me this day.
Feed my spirit,
that it may flourish
enriched in Christ
whose sacrifice freed.
Thine is the glorious kingdom
at the end of my journey.
Let me not lose sight
of the path you’ve chosen,
yet, trod it confidently,
toward your throne.
Oh, I implore Thee, prepareth my soul,
that I might be cleansed.
Amen
