You are not stuck where you are. Life holds many choices, and all you need to do is make a new or different one.
When we understand that the path laid out before us has multiple turns and branches off in many different directions, we begin to see that we have choices.
Every choice you have made has led you to where you are. If you want to be somewhere else, you must take a different path. It sounds easier than it is because sometimes, we get stuck either out of stubbornness or fear.
There are also different routes to the same destination. Some are shorter than others, while others meander and take a longer scenic route.
Like anything in life, there are good choices and bad choices. The good ones take us closer to our authentic selves, while the poor ones take us further away.
When we make the wrong choice, our lives become more of a struggle. We are not as happy as we should, or could, be. Often people living against the natural grain of their life become depressed and sometimes angry.
Some stay on this path even though there is an easier one in sight. Those who remain out of stubbornness usually try to prove they were right rather than admit they may have made a mistake or poor decision. The ones who stay out of fear typically do so because they cannot see what others see clearly.
Their path will continue to be challenging until they change their direction. Changing direction can take effort, and the road may be steep depending on where you are starting. Once on it, though, you will find it becomes easier as you go, and you will come to be happier as you journey.
Travelling our choices takes planning. Just like a trip requires planning, we must create a list of tasks to reach our destination or goal. At each decision point, there is a new branch in the road, and we must take the time to determine which branch is the best option for us.
Some choices are dependent on financial security, others emotional happiness and well-being. For some, the choices are based on personal safety.
Everyone has a different path to follow, and while our paths may cross and intertwine, they are each our own, based on the choices we make for ourselves.
Remember, if you feel stuck, you don’t need to be. You have options because life holds many choices.
