The days come and go, but in the living, we must make a conscious effort, ensuring we are finding time to pray.
Some say it is not an easy thing to do, to pray every day. In reality, it is as easy as talking to a friend and can be done at any time, anywhere.
As a child, we often learn to pray, kneeling at our bedside. This makes it a conscious effort when we kneel before God and thank him for our blessings and ask him to look after those we love.
In truth, we can create that same link between ourselves and God at any time. He knows our hearts and hears us when we talk to Him.
As I was writing this post, I stopped and watched a bumblebee flit from petal to petal, and I took a moment to thank God for the blessings we find in nature. Nothing more, nothing less, just a thank you.
There are several times throughout the day when I talk to God. When I awake, I am thankful for another day and lay my needs before Him. Even those unspoken, only felt in my heart, I send to Him. He knows me, and He knows what I truly need.
Before I write, I surround myself with God’s loving light and ask him to bless and inspire the words that will follow. I also ask that they reach whoever needs to hear them when they need to hear them. Whether it be a quick hit quote or a longer post, the prayer is the same.
Many people have told me they don’t know how to pray. If you can talk to another person, you can speak to God. It can be out loud in the quiet of your room, at church, or silently when the need arises. God doesn’t ask us to be perfect. He only wants us to come to Him with all our joys, our sorrows and our needs.
I believe that more people should talk openly about their faith and how they pray. Not in a preachy, do what I do, kind of way, but in a sharing way. Perhaps if we did, there would be less fighting in this world.
Whatever you believe, know that He is there with you and hears your prayers. He also sees the effort as you are finding time throughout your day to pray.
