It Doesn’t Matter How You Pray

It doesn’t matter how you pray, it only matters that you do. Many religions differ but at their root is God.

Don’t just pray when things go wrong or you need something, talk to God, share a thought, a hope, give thanks. If you do God will respond. You can hear or see the reply when you listen, or see, through the eyes and ears of the spirit.

When we make our dialogue with God a regular practice, we strengthen our spirit and we shine a little brighter. This is nothing to be ashamed of. There are many who pray in secret because where they live it is dangerous to be found praying. For me, those are people of immensely strong faith and I wish for a world where they can talk to God and not live in fear.

Growing up, we talked of God at church and in our family but it wasn’t something people discussed in general. I am not sure why but perhaps because people feared they would not be accepted. I for one believe my friends love me for who I am, if my love for God or the fact I pray is a reason for them to walk away, that is their choice, I love them still. We will both miss out if they do.

As long as we are kind, thoughtful and loving to one another it shouldn’t matter how we pray. We should just be glad for each other.

So from me to you, it doesn’t matter how you pray.
