Become Self-Aware

Only you know what you can do to make yourself happy or lift your spirits. Become self-aware and choose to be happy.

We must look at ourselves with open and honest eyes. Try to understand your weaknesses as well as your strengths. When we know all aspects of ourselves fully, we become self-aware.

Strengths can be enhanced. Skills can be honed. Talents can be put to good use in the service of others. All of these we can do if we choose it.

When choosing to work on weaknesses, people often tend to look at the surface only. Unfortunately, many focus on superficial flaws that they see in themselves. Partially because society has tried to dictate how we should look or tell us what ‘beautiful’ looks like.

Too many people nowadays look at themselves and find fault. Decide to look at yourself and see the beauty. You are unique and wonderfully made. Know this and believe it. You are beautiful.

To understand our weaknesses thoroughly, we must look deeper. When we do this, we find the places where we have denied ourselves, perhaps because we felt unworthy or for some other reason. Maybe there is fear involved.

When we understand our fears, we know how to overcome them. It is not always as easy as it sounds but acknowledging them is the first step. Conquering them requires effort but can be very liberating.

There is nothing wrong with working on yourself. When we do, we work toward being the person we were meant to be; fully formed and informed, we walk forth in light and awareness.

I view areas of weakness in myself as an opportunity for growth and learning. There is nothing wrong with continually trying to address areas that need to be strengthened.

Authentic living requires embracing all of who you are and living your truth, wholly and without hesitation. It is using your talents for the betterment of yourself and others, but it is also accepting that you have flaws and are willing to work on them.

Take time every week, even if only a few moments, to think of the areas where you struggled. How could you make it so that you are not struggling? Many free resources can help provide the information or assistance that you may require. Do not be afraid to make use of them.

Life is not meant to be a struggle but a process of growth and learning. We can only grow when we are willing to understand ourselves and to become self-aware.
