The fall is beautiful and is filled with wonderful examples. Lessons, we can take into our daily lives.
I love the fall. The colours, the smell and the sound of leaves crunching beneath your feet on a cool crisp day. What I love most about fall is the reminders it offers.
The changing colours remind us that change can be beautiful. Change doesn’t have to be scary. When you embrace change, not only is it easier to navigate through, it is less stressful.
If we didn’t have change and everything remained just as it was how boring life would be. We would never get married, have children, travel or see new places. We would be stuck, just as we are.
What if there was no technology in our situation? We wouldn’t be able to communicate with loved ones via our computers or smartphones. Technology also allows positive and inspirational messages to reach everyone around the world, in every continent and country.
The sap within the trees changes and slows, allowing it to continue nurturing through the harshest of winters. This allows for the tree to bloom anew in spring. Even the mighty evergreens change in order to survive the cold of winter.
Change does not have to be a bad thing. Yes, it can be scary at times, but it offers us a wondrous opportunity for growth. We are provided with a perfect example of how change can be a good thing this time of year.
Another great example from Fall is in the ’letting go’. It teaches us that sometimes we have to stop hanging onto things. Whether it be old ideals, anger, bad habits or painful memories. In order to continue blooming and growing a tree must shed it leaves in the fall.
The falling leaves not only allow it to support itself through winter but it provides shelter and warmth to other, smaller creatures. It can become a bed of protection for the forest floor and gardens.
Like the tree, as we shed old, perhaps bad, habits we aid in our own growth. Often we provide examples to others who may be struggling and holding on to habits they need to let go of.
We can let go of anger and painful memories allowing ourselves to heal. In letting go we are preparing ourselves for something new, just as the tree prepares to nurture itself.
The Fall also brings with it hope. Hope for a new life, a rebirth in spring. It lets us know that warmer days are coming and that the darkness and cold of winter won’t stay forever.
One gets lost without hope. There is always a better day ahead and change is possible. Sometimes, it is in the letting go where we change and find our rebirth.
Enjoy this fall and see it with new eyes. When you do you will see that fall is filled with wonderful examples.
