We All Need A Break

Every once in awhile we all need a break. Whether it be from friends, family, work or a combination of these, breaks are needed.

It is okay to recognize when you need to take a break. Taking a break from things prevent them from becoming mundane. It allows us to get a fresh perspective.

As a writer, I am always told to stick to a schedule, get it done. For me, I need to take breaks occasionally and step away. The key is to not step away for too long so I don’t lose the momentum. When pushed to do something I don’t feel like doing, I can become resentful. When one becomes resentful, one tends to not enjoy their work. I love to write, so I am sure to take a break when I need to.

In life, I think it is important to stop and take some time for yourself. Even if only in little spurts, a much needed break does wonders.. It allows you to refresh and be at peace within and without.

Sometimes even family can get on our last nerve. Yes, we love them, but once in awhile, we need a break to remember who we are. We are not just the role within the family, be it mother, father, sister, brother, etc. we are our own person. Better to take a break and go for a walk, read a book, or do something we enjoy, even if just for a little while, so we don’t end up saying, or doing, something we regret later.

I love my family and my friends but the reality is sometimes it can be too much activity and I can become hyper within. This is unsettling and can have negative effects. The key is to spend quality time with all but to recognize when you need a break and then take it.

Be careful, do not end up becoming a recluse and withdrawing totally. Everyone needs to have personal contact, feel loved and valued. We all need friends and family.

Occasionally, we even need to take a break from ourselves. When you get too into your own headspace it does not add value. This is the time to reach out to family and to friends.

Recognize too, that sometimes your job, your family and friends need a break from you too. That is okay because at times we all need a break.
