How We See The World Shapes Us

How we see the worlds shapes us. It shapes the way we think, what we believe and how we behave.

If you have a negative outlook on life and see the world as a bleak and dreary place. You see the worst instead of the best in people. This becomes the world you live in because you become what you believe. You will find that you are unhappy, sad and unmotivated to do anything. Most people like this surround themselves with negative thinking people. These are the ones for whom nothing is ever good. They find a problem or something to be unhappy about in almost everything. This includes their job, their opportunities and their future. You know the type of person, they are the ones when you say ‘Hi, how’s it going?’, will respond with a sigh and a list of things that they don’t like, or is currently upsetting them.

Living with a negative mindset makes you live with a victim mentality . Everything that happens to you is someone else’s fault. You never take responsibility for your own happiness. It is better to live with a positive mindset.

People who have a positive outlook on life understand that not everything is perfect but there is still joy to be found in everything. If you choose to be happy and believe that for the most part the world is full of good people and exciting places, you will find that you will do things that bring you joy. You will be more adventurous, not afraid to make new friends or travel and change will be welcomed. When something bad happens you won’t be the victim, you’ll be the survivor. You will find a way to make a bad situation better or figure out a way to change it.

Life is more joyful for you when you live with a positive mindset. You can take any bad situation and find something to be grateful for. As an example, I have to stay inside but it allows me more time to spend with my family, or catch up on things I have put off for a long time. Perhaps it is my opportunity to spend more time on myself, digging deep and releasing all negativity and pain so I can be free to love and laugh. I could be sad and depressed or I could find ways to bring joy into my day. I choose to bring joy into my day.

Yes there are a lot of awful things in the world, a lot of people in need and a lot of ugliness out there, but there are more good things, wonderful well intentioned people, and beauty. The good always outweighs the bad if you believe in yourself. For some it is definitely harder to get out of a bad situation but they do it. Why do they succeed when others fail? They choose to believe in themselves and that there is more to life than their circumstances. I personally believe faith has a lot to do with it. We are stronger with God than without.

How you see the world is, and always will be, your choice. You can view it with a negative or positive mindset. The choice is up to you. Just remember that how we see the world shapes us.
