Change Direction As Needed

When things are going down hill fast, or the road is an uphill battle, don’t give up. If your life seems to be falling apart, reset your compass and change direction as needed.

Life doesn’t always go the way we planned. Sometimes we need to reassess and change our plans. This doesn’t mean we failed, it means we are resetting, or righting, our course. Perhaps God has a different, better, plan for us, one we cannot yet see.

Nobody promised life would be easy or perfect. There are no guarantees that the path you are on is the right one. If you discover you are not where you are supposed to be, it is okay to change direction. Don’t beat yourself up. Give yourself a pat on the back for recognizing that you are off course in the first place.

If the wind blows your boat off course on the water, you adjust the steering wheel to get back to the route you need to be on. It is no different with your life. If you get blown off course, you don’t have to stay there. Sometimes you just need to readjust your internal steering wheel and reset your compass.

The best compass is your internal spirit. If what you are doing seems wrong, unlawful, sneaky, or underhanded, then you are most likely in need of a tune up. People who are cheating or just ‘dialing it in’ can feel that things are not right. They begin to not like themselves. This comes out in many ways, the worst being angry at others for their own failings. If you recognize it though, you can take action and do something about it.

You are in tune with your spirit when you do things out of love, honesty, kindness and compassion. When you are on the right path you feel good about yourself. You typically will hang around people who are also living this way. When you are out of sync with your spirit you become uncomfortable, moody, depressed and often angry. You hang around others who are in worse shape than you just to try and feel better about yourself. Do not kid yourself, this just brings you further off course.

When you are in tune with your true authentic purpose in life, every thing seems to fall into place. When you start veering off course, you will struggle as you are trying to force something that is not meant for you. Be aware and honest enough with yourself so that you will recognize this early, allowing you to fix it.

Life doesn’t have to be an uphill battle or a downhill fall. It can be a steady course, one that takes you where you are meant to be going. That doesn’t mean things won’t be challenging, they will at times. It is our challenges that make us stronger and tests our will to remain on the right and chosen path.

The same path isn’t meant for everyone. We all have different journeys, different roads to walk. Almost all of us will, at some point, will need to change direction when we have been blown off course. That doesn’t mean we have failed, or are failures, it just means we need to try something different.

If life isn’t going the way you want it, or think it should go, all you need to do is simply change direction as needed.
