Don’t Let Life Get You Down

Life is too short and we should enjoy it while we can. We all have many things to be grateful for, let’s focus there and not dwell on the negative.

I know that it is easy these days to focus on all the things we can’t do. Instead, focus on what you can and what you have. By doing this you can keep in a positive mindset.

The rain turns the grass green, makes the flowers grow and brings out the leaves and blooms on the trees. So, don’t complain about the rain, take joy in it. Use the time to do something fun for yourself. Me, I dyed the bottom of my white hair purple today just for the fun of it. It will wash out, and I will be getting a haircut at the earliest opportunity so I decided to have a little fun. If people don’t like it, or think I’m weird, that’s their issue not mine.

The sunshine allows us to be outdoors, and yes, we must distance, and there are some things we can’t do, but there are many things we can. Walking, biking, driveway long chats can all be had. Sit on your porch, or balcony and relax with a good book. Myself, I take the opportunity to do all of the above, garden and sit and write.

If your family is safe and healthy, be thankful. If your job allows you to work from home, be thankful as many cannot. If you woke up today and can move around be thankful. There are many things to be thankful for, just look around. Unfortunately, many people get so focused on what they can’t have, or do, that they miss the blessings.

So when you are getting gloomy, cheer up. Count your blessings, and don’t let life get you down.
