Everybody Loves

You know what they say, everybody loves somebody sometime. It is definitely a true statement.

We are all alike in this fact, we all love. From the moment we are born, and perhaps before, we love and know happiness and contentment. It is a simple thing but being held and fed as infants we understand love.

As we grow into young adults, we experience strong emotions that are sometime misconstrued for love, but in a way they are a love in their own right. We hopefully love our parents, or parent, grandparents, sibling if we have one, cousins and our friends.

For some of the lucky ones we find our life partners whom we love for the rest of our lives. For others, there are a few loves, but we all love at some point. Even after our heart is broken, we still love, if we didn’t we would not know the pain of a love lost.

Love makes us smile, and makes us happy. When we are in love, especially a new love, we are full of light and we glow. Everyone who meets us knows. They can see our joy, as it can’t help but bubble over into our everyday tasks.

When we are in love our steps are a little lighter and our burdens often seem a little less heavy. Yet, is love the same? Do we love our parents as we love our children? Do we love our friends all the same? Love is stronger and deeper at times for different people. It doesn’t mean we love them less, we just love them differently.

There are two loves though that stand above the rest. The first is this, in order to love fully and wholly we must first love ourselves. We must love every part of us. We know our faults and flaws and what we dislike about ourselves, but we must still love ourselves. Bad habits can be broken, weight can be lost, what we see as a physical flaw someone who loves us does not see at all. The next time you look in the mirror say those three little words to yourself and then believe them, ‘I love you’.

The second, not least by any means is God. We are fully loved by God and because of this love we ourselves can love. For me, it is the most important love of all. When we love, we are a reflection of God. When we love God fully there is peace within and our light shines bright. When we love God, the world is a better place, because you cannot love God and not love others, it is impossible.

It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are in your journey, you and I are the same. We feel, we cry and we love. It is a simple fact but a true one; nobody is exempt because everybody loves.
