When Your Light Flickers

Everybody gets run down, emotionally, physically, and at times spiritually. If this happens to you, know that you are not alone.

When we are tired we sleep, hopefully when we are hungry we eat. This replenishes our physical strength. This step for many people is straight forward. We also need though, to move and keep all our joints well oiled and working. When we don’t use them, our muscles weaken and eventually we lose the strength and for some ability to do basic things.

Exhaustion, improper eating and lack of exercise also affects our mind and our thought patterns. We don’t think as clearly, we may make poor decisions, and it can lead to depression.

So, what of our Spirit? When our spiritual light flickers we must look to God for renewal; our light shines brighter when we turn to God. God restores not only our Spirit but our mental well being as well.

Every time we pray, love purely and give freely our light is renewed. This is because we are walking the intended path. When we stray from that path and don’t do these basic things our light diminishes.

Helping another in need always replenishes our light, even when at times we are tired. There is no greater service than to help someone in need. This is an act of love, and acts of love always replenish your light.

Keep your body, mind and spirit fed so your light will shine brightly. Always remember to turn to God when your light flickers.
