Leave Your Footprint

We all leave behind footprints of our lives, some smaller than others but footprints left none the less.

We must be conscious of the type of impact we have on people and what impressions they are left with after interacting with us. It is a positive footprint, an unmemorable one or worse a negative one.

Our choices, the way we live and how we act all leave little footprints behind. Some call this legacy, others call it impression but whatever you call it, it is a footprint in time. Something you will be remembered for or forgotten because of.

Our choices impact others. The way we treat this planet and the animals on it impact others. How we raise our children who will leave their own footprint impacts others for years to come. Our children may choose to take a different path but it our responsibility to teach them right from wrong, good from bad and how to take care of the planet so that it is sustained for years to come for our grandchildren and all their children that follow.

Be careful with your words, love freely, be kind, loving and generous. When you live with love you cannot help but leave a deep and wonderful footprint behind; a footprint that will remain long after you are gone.

Take care as you go, make sure that whatever you do, it is done with love and kindness, and then leave your footprint.

  1. colincoles2016 – Frome, Somerset, UK – A novel writer, since 2014. Atlantic Hijack, an action thriller was first published then with the author name of Sam Grant. Professional seafaring experience from early life was incorporated into this novel and sea poems. Pre-sea training led to ten year service aboard eight merchant ships, as apprentice and deck officer, before training in retail management and marriage in 1973. The confinement of offices and city centre stores most likely contributed to resigning from retail management and applying to join Royal Mail-ultimately in the role of postal delivery. Later as a work place trainer. Between leaving the sea and starting in retail management, two seasons were passed in the role of deck chair attendant on sea front and beaches. "Dancing on the Beach," a romantic thriller by Sam Grant owes its authenticity in detail to these experiences, in the way that the two action, mystery sea novels owe depiction to earlier, professional sea-going experiences. Good review from Sea Breezes, an international sea journal. A recent novel has reference to the author's postal life experience - Persuasions Price Summer farm life experiences, helping on a relatives farm, is also relevant to background source. colincoles2016 says:

Good inter – generational relationship can be absent in the west. We have much to learn from other cultures. Western family intergenerational relationships can also be poor. Present apartness between men and women that presents itself in the media is related to inability to share and accept that people need to better understand and seek to appreciate another’s point of view. This is true across the world amongst nations and all peoples.
A tragedy in the world is that kindness can be misinterpreted as weakness. Aggrieved people who will seek to take advantage of those who offer kindness. No one leads a faultless life with regard to their treatment of others and their needs. Personal relationships which in hindsight could have been handled with more kindness and understanding. Kindness is ultimately an aspiration and accomplishment, that smooths life’s passage and understands the human condition, where we are all on a path of learning to better accept and appreciate others. All individuals who are fallible where we can never fully understand the trials that beset another, but should seek to offer kindness and support, whenever able to do so.
