Be brave enough to leave your mark on the world.
We all leave footprints, no matter how small. It is up to you the type of mark you will leave on the world. It can be a long-lasting mark of kindness and love or one of hate. Either way, history will remember.
How you treat others is significant and tells the type of person you are. Treat everyone as a cherished, long-lost friend who you love dearly. After all, we are all spiritual brothers and sisters regardless of where we come from.
Think about how you want to be treated and then treat others that way. It is the best way to do it because no one desires harm, hate or anger directed towards themselves. People will remember how you treated them long after you are gone from their lives. They will look back fondly…or not.
We must also understand that not everyone is having a good day. If you run across someone gruff or rude, be polite and do something to make them smile. Even if you don’t see a smile, you may lighten their load or redirect their energy just the tiniest bit.
At the very core of things, we are all the same. All of us want to love and be loved and to have health, safety and security throughout our lives. We all have good days and bad days.
Your life is one lasting legacy. You imprint your mark on those you love, especially your children. More often than not, they will shadow what you do, how you act and how you treat others. They are one of the most prominent marks you leave behind.
While you cannot control how your children act or decide to live, you can teach and show them the way. When they veer off course, you must stand your ground to ensure they know what is right and just.
Another way we leave a mark is by our works. When we use our talents in the service of others, we shine. People remember what we do and how we help them.
Money comes, and money goes, but it is the work behind it that leaves the footprint. Many products have stood the test of time because they are solid quality work that helps us in one way or another.
Not everyone is a coach, artist, or entertainer. We all have different talents, each just as important as the next. The world would not work if we were all alike and had the same skill sets.
Make sure as you tread through life that you help others in need. This footprint is embedded firmly and can have a lasting impact. You may never know the long-term impact, but people’s lives can be changed forever by a simple act of kindness.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to help others. There are many opportunities in all of our communities to provide assistance. Need comes in many forms and faces. If you are observing with a watchful heart, you will see where your talents can be used to help others.
The imprint you leave is solely up to you. Let it be a strong, lasting legacy that you can be proud of. Just remember that everything you do tells a story. As your story unfolds, make sure it is based on all that is good.
Be conscious of your choices and actions every day. The world is watching, even if you don’t see it. There are people now who are being remembered not for their outstanding works but for other actions.
Go out every day prepared to leave your mark on the world.
