Remember to Give Thanks

God, I don’t want anything. I just want to thank you for all you’ve given me.

I love when you are thankful, child and remember to give thanks. It lets me know that you have a grateful heart and appreciate all the little blessings sent your way.

Many of my children take these blessings for granted. Parents who get frustrated with their children over the smallest of things don’t understand that others have lost theirs. They assume they will always be there and always love them, but some will lose their way and chose to step off the path and into the darkness.

There are many small blessings given to you, and when you give thanks, it will place joy in your heart. A thankful heart finds more ways to be grateful and is open to receive every blessing sent their way.

The sun, the rain, the snow are all blessings. One must be wise and understand how to make use of their gift. Just like animals, trees and flowers are all gifts, they all serve a different purpose. Enjoy them and give thanks.

Friends and family are blessings. Not all people have these. Appreciate and love the ones you have. Please treat them with kindness, compassion and understanding. When you need to let them go, do it with gratitude in your heart for the time they were with you and the memories you have.

I have given you the gift of knowledge, and it comes in many ways. You can learn all you need to in order to thrive in this world and be happy. With knowledge comes wisdom. Everyone is at a different level in their learning. This is to provide variety and continued growth. With knowledge and awareness comes gratitude.

It is a thankful heart that understands and appreciates these gifts. So many of my children come to me only with their wants and needs. Even when they get what they were asking for, they often forget to give thanks.

I can see when your heart smiles and your soul shines, just as I can see when you are sad or lonely. If you are sad, it means you have lost something you once had. Rather than focusing on the loss, be grateful for the joy you had, and give thanks. Happiness will come again.

The greatest gift given by me, by my Son, was forgiveness and a pathway back to me. I hold those who recognize this and are thankful close to me. They not only know what a great gift it was, but they themselves give the gift of forgiveness freely even when it is hard.

I know when your heart is heavy, and I will listen and do what is right for you. And, yes, sometimes the answer is no, or not yet. When you look back, you may understand why but even if you do not, give thanks for you were heard.

Know that I am here always and am with you. Come to me with your needs, but also, remember to give thanks.
