I was lost
in my sorrow
sadness
raining down face
No words existed
to erase the pain
but hope found me still
in this lonely place
Grace reminded me of love
and gratitude arrived
on the wings of my prayer
a reminder that hope remains
Faith stood strong
lifting me up
out of the depths of despair
my guardian Angel holding the reigns
“It is okay to cry,”
he said as I sobbed,
“but do not dwell
long within it”
Despair can pull you down
like a weighted blanket
of stones meant to drown
on those whom they sit
Lift your head and smile
and give thanks
for all that was
and all that will be
Yes, sadness comes
and you cry
but it is your faith
that will set you free
Better days will come
and joy will climb the wall
lifting you high again
out of the sadness you feel
And, when you raise your face
you will feel His warmth
and know in your soul
His gift, His love, is real
Know this and
never forget it
embed it always
deep into your bone
If you feel sad and lost
remember this my friend
He is with you always
and you are never alone.
