It’s easy to say we ‘can’t,’ but you will be more successful if you live with an ‘I can’ attitude.
Sometimes, people give up on dreams too quickly. Whether it be from fear of success, fear of failure or self-sabotage, the words ‘I can’t’ should be purged from your vocabulary.
People are afraid to succeed for only a few reasons. The first is that they will achieve their dream and it won’t bring enough joy as expected. Happiness comes from within and not from material things. That is a lesson to be learned early.
Fear of success can also be because you don’t know what will come next. There is always room for more, and we continue to dream. Achieving your dream will just be the beginning. Why? Well, because this world is ever-changing and we are ever-growing.
Fear of failure is more binding, and it can lead you to sabotage yourself. It doesn’t matter what your goal or dream is. If you are afraid to fail, you will find a way not to do it or prove that you were right in your ‘I can’t’ thinking.
You need to start seeing failure as the key to success. The more we fail, the closer we are to our goal and getting exactly what we wanted. Failure makes us stronger.
Fear is meant to keep us safe and out of harm, not limit us. Failure shows us our errors so we can fix them and try again. If you fear failure, you are going against what the emotion is intended for.
When you step across the doorway of fear, you enter the room of possibilities. This is the world where anything is possible, and positive and intuitive thinking thrives. This is where ‘I can’ exists.
Build yourself a list of what you are afraid of, and then beside each item, write why you want to achieve it. When you are done, for each one, say out loud ‘I can…’ (fill in the item on your list) and repeat until you firmly believe it.
Create a mantra of ‘I cans.’ If you are unsure of where to start, here are a few:
⁃ I can be and do anything
⁃ I can succeed
⁃ I can reach my dreams
⁃ I can have everything I want
⁃ I can shine brightly
⁃ I can see it
⁃ I can touch it
⁃ I can feel it
⁃ I can do it
Your list of ‘I can’ is unlimited and up to you. Engrain them and believe. When you think you can, you will do what it takes to make your dream come true and reach your goal.
Never live with a negative image of yourself or hold a negative attitude. Live with an ‘I can’ attitude.
