Don’t fill your mind with negative self-talk, have a positive mantra.
When you put yourself down, you start to limit what you can do. You stop believing that you have a purpose, and so you don’t strive for it. The truth is each of us has a God-given talent, that when used to serve others, not only allows us to be successful it provides us with great joy and satisfaction.
Take a few minutes and create a positive ‘I am’ mantra. Once you have your list repeat it every morning until you believe it. Tape your list to your mirror, your fridge, or on your computer, anywhere where you will be sure to say it. Engrain it in your subconscious, so it becomes a part of your very fibre.
When we use positive self-talk, we become more confident and are willing to work harder to achieve our goals. Once we begin reaching our goals, no matter how small, this too will help further cement the belief into our subconscious.
If you are struggling to find a positive mantra, list down all the negative things you think about yourself and then flip them into a positive.
Here is a list to give you some ideas. Take as many as you want. The key is to write them down and then say them out loud. In fact, shout them at the top of your lungs until you believe them.
Sample Mantra
I am beautiful
I am strong
I am loved
I am joy
I am blessed
I am special (unique)
I am happy
I am willing to go after my dreams
I am worth it
I am a force of nature
I am a warrior
I am a child of God
Once you have engrained them into your being, you will be able to call them up at will the minute you try something challenging. The second you start to have a negative thought, you can just pull up the positive one and cancel it out.
When you say your mantra, do it with feeling. Envision what you look like when those words are true and feel it. It will take time, but anything repeated gets rooted into our thoughts.
Don’t fill your mind with negativity. Instead, decide to have a positive mantra.
