I See You

I see you under the covers,
come on, get up, it’s time to play;
I’ve been waiting a long time,
you slept all night and now it’s day.

Let’s play with the ball,
come on give it a whirl;
wait, let me out, Let Me OUT,
LET ME OUT … SQUIRREL!!!

Come a bit closer,
I can make you smile;
I’ll lick you all over,
it’ll only take a little while.

Let’s go for a walk,
get some fresh air;
look I have the leash,
your shoes are right there.

There’s a boy with a ball,
he’s throwing it to that girl;
can I go play with them?
Oh look, let’s go …. SQUIRREL!!!!

The squirrel got away,
Sorry about your arm;
I didn’t mean to pull so hard,
who knew a squirrel could do such harm.

I chased him to the tree,
but he ran straight on up;
come on, don’t be mad at me,
at heart I’m still a pup.

That was fun today
I’m tired through and through;
hey are you sleeping?
Come on, I see you.
