We Are Not Perfect

I am not perfect, nor are you but you know what? God loves us anyway, our friends love us anyway.

We are loved for who we are, not for our faults and imperfections, those are the things that make us human. It is the way we love, laugh, share and embrace ourselves and those we love that matters most.

When you look at someone how do you assess them? Is it by their looks, their wit and charm, or their faults and flaws? My guess is that we look at everything and choose to love and befriend those just for who they are, faults, flaws and all. Why? My belief is because we are all flawed in some way, we all make mistakes and do things we later regret; we are not a perfect people but we still want to love and be loved, to laugh, have friends and basically have a good life.

We recognize ourselves in others, both the good and the not so great. We don’t want to be judged so we try not to judge, we don’t always get it right. Sometimes we are sucked in to the greater community who is pointing out what someone is doing wrong, making a joke of it. We must try hard not to join in when others are being put down. Yes, we should not stand for injustice, vulgarity and violence, but we should be gentle with each other when it comes to the every day flaws.

We were made in His image, yet every day we must make choices, and sometimes we don’t always make the right ones. Why? It is simple, we are not perfect.
