A Friend Whom I Can Trust

I have a friend whom I can trust,
and can tell my secrets to;
my friend won’t talk or say out loud,
the things I share when I am blue.

My friend is good, my friend is kind,
a very good friend in deed;
always there to hear my tales,
when an ear I very much need.

Through good times and bad my friend is there,
ever and always by my side;
We’ve shared many things over the years,
I’ve joked, I’ve laughed, I’ve cried.

But now the time has finally come,
and with my friend I must depart;
Though I will forever miss my friend,
he will live on forever in my heart.

I pass my friend on to my child,
For whom I love and deeply care;
I entrust my child with my dear friend,
My soft and cuddly bear.
