May God heal what’s broken and mend what’s wounded.
It’s never easy to offer the broken pieces of ourselves to the Lord. They are pieces we’d rather keep hidden away, for no one to see. The truth is this: God wants, and he sees all of us. Every last little piece. There is nothing we can hide from Him. Thinking we can is naivety.
Often, it is in our brokenness, where we find Him. For many, God is the last hope. The one we finally surrender to when we realize we can’t continue the way things are, and we can’t do it alone any longer.
We are not alone in our suffering. If you think God doesn’t understand, look to the cross. Kneel in front of Jesus for an hour and you can’t help but know the truth. He has suffered more than any of us. Not because he wanted to, but out of love. He stands beside you, knowing your pain intimately. Somehow, spending time at the cross eases our own suffering if we bear it to the Lord.
God is calling to each of us, saying, Come to me in your suffering and sorrow, and I will make you whole. He wants you. All of you. Won’t you let him in so that he can heal what’s broken and mend what’s wounded?
