There is not a single person in the world that does not bear the wounds of pain. We all hold scars from invisible and visible sorrows.
Each of us is broken at different times, in different ways. We must put our self back together, piece by broken piece. Each piece adhered with love, holding the fracture in place until it remains.
Some pieces fall repeatedly. I believe that is because we are learning a lesson. It is not until we learn the lesson that the piece firmly adheres and remains in place. If we don’t learn the lesson, we subject ourselves to the same injuries.
For some, the injuries and scars are obvious to those who see you. For others, the injuries lay within, invisible to the naked eye. The fragments are there, just the same. Felt and seen by the holder alone. Breaking a little piece at a time.
The deepest scars I hold are a gift. Perhaps that was the lesson, to recognize that there was love amid the pain. Without love, the pain would not be there and there would be one less scar. I’ll take the love any day and risk the scar.
If you stand back and look, you see you are not a collection of broken pieces, but a beautiful masterpiece created by God. Your scars are the beautiful weave that holds those broken pieces together, making the beautiful mosaic that is you.
Within, we house a spirit that fuses those scars to the pieces until we are whole once more. Light reflected outward, creating a wonderful stained glass image that is magnificent to behold. Our light shines for all to see. God’s masterpiece on display.
If you are going through a breaking phase right now, understand that you have the power to mend and heal your broken pieces. When you do, you will be stronger, more beautiful. It won’t be easy, but it is worth it. If a piece falls off again, ask yourself what the lesson is that needs to be learned.
When the emotions get too much, the pain too intense, step back for a minute and breath. With each breath, remember that you are not alone. We all hold scars, and many of us are also breaking, and in the process of putting our mosaic masterpiece back together.
