Remember, if you are struggling that everything in life is a phase.
As we age, we begin to realize that we constantly continue to change and grow. When we are young, we crawl for a short time until we learn to pull ourselves up and walk. Once we are steady enough on our feet, we learn to run.
In the learning, we stumble, we trip, and occasionally we fall. This is like life in general, and if we are wise, we carry the lessons of our early days with us.
When we struggle, we should stop looking at it as the world working against us and look at it as life trying to get us to grab on to something so we can learn to stand on our own two feet.
Everything we do must be learned. In learning, we decide if we build a habit and keep growing or stay stuck where we are. The choice is always ours to decide what direction we go. We can move forward, stay where we are and once in a while, unfortunately, choose to go backwards.
Not all things we learn will be good for us. We need to recognize them as a stumbling block rather than a step. They are there to test our will, or desire, to move forward. Perhaps, they are a trap laid by another not wanting us to succeed.
Not everyone wishes us well, even if that is how it should be. Some people don’t want us to succeed because they want us to remain stagnant with them. This is their fear, but it can hold you back if you let it.
Just like every goal we have can be broken down into tasks, every problem can be seen as a different stage of learning. We identify the problem, and we determine how it is affecting us, and then we figure out how to fix the problem. The next time the problem surfaces, we know how to deal with it more quickly because we have learned. Consider it an opportunity for growth.
Hopefully, problems won’t continue to resurface, and only new opportunities for growth will present themselves. Unfortunately, sometimes the resolution to our struggles can be directly tied to another. This can be painful because until they also are willing to move forward, we may seem stuck. This is an entire topic in itself for another day.
Each challenge, struggle or hindrance lasts a different length of time, and some challenges are longer than others, but we should never lose hope. If we look at them as our opportunities for growth and recognize we have some control over our situation, they become easier to get through.
No matter what you are struggling with, recognize that it does not have to be permanent because everything in life is a phase.
