Raise the Bar

If you aren’t satisfied with things, raise the bar.

Don’t get stuck in the status quo. Challenge yourself by setting higher targets. It is when we stretch ourselves that we realize we can reach for our dreams.

There is nothing wrong with being happy where you are. The challenge is staying optimistic. While happiness is a choice, the choices you make drive the emotion as well.

Many times people become settled in their life and stop striving to do better, or worse, believe they don’t deserve any more than what they have. The abundance of the world is within your reach if you are willing to stretch yourself.

A mind stagnates when not challenged. Continue to learn new things, pursue new ideas and flourish. I love to read, but I don’t always read just for pleasure. Often I read to learn something new. When I don’t have time to read or need a quick solution, I turn to educational videos or podcasts.

The higher you are willing to raise the bar, the more you can separate yourself from the pack who only do what they easily can do without thinking. Yes, it will be hard to jump over the hurdle, but if you keep trying, you will get it. You may even have to lower it slightly until you land at a new comfort level, but when you do, raise it again quickly.

We must always be willing to do and be better than we are. If we are to achieve our purpose, we must be the very best version of ourselves to do it.

It is okay to have days off and rest or celebrate in between achievements, but then we must get up and carry on, looking for new ways to improve, expand and grow.

You can settle and be ‘okay’ with your life, or you can go after your dreams with a passion. Your life is the vision you have for yourself. If you are unhappy, perhaps you need a new picture.

Don’t be willing to settle. Be ready to stretch yourself and grow. When things become easy or rote, raise the bar.
