Come Friends

Come friends

Come friends, take my hand,
let’s laugh,
and play,
and smile,
in our carefree way,
come friends, take my hand.

Come friends, sit and talk with me,
about loves,
about hurts,
about dreams,
about what we’ll grow to be,
Come friends, sit and talk with me.

Come friends, walk with me,
before we go away,
to college,
to work,
less time for us to play,
come friends, walk with me.

Come friends, walk me down the aisle,
I’ll walk with you,
you walk with me,
into our adulthood,
never too far apart we’ll be,
come friends, walk me down the aisle.

Come friends, let our children play,
as we did once,
become fast friends,
share their secrets,
friends for life who stay,
come friends, let our children play.

Come friends, gather while we can,
a break from the bustle,
our special time,
to laugh, to cry,
a short family ban,
come friends, gather while we can.

Come friends, walk a while with me,
my time is coming,
I want one last day,
with my dear friends,
before I go away,
come friends, walk a while with me.

Come friends, walk me down the aisle,
one last time,
I can’t take your hand,
but you have my heart,
my friends, my dear friends,
come friends, walk me down the aisle.
