It is easy to get discouraged when you try something and it doesn’t work the first time. Perfecting a skill, an art, or a product sometimes takes multiple iterations before you can get the end result you are searching for. If everyone stopped after one attempt there would be a lot of inventions out there that never came to fruition.
Life can be harder at times. It is during those times we must not stop or give-up. Just like an artist honing their skill, we must try again in a different way. Don’t beat yourself up, don’t get discouraged, rather, know that things can improve. Don’t let the failures make you afraid to keep trying. Reach for your dreams whatever they are.
If I had just sat back when the doctors told me I’d be in a wheelchair in a few months, I wouldn’t be here writing this today. I’d be sitting in the wheelchair. Instead, I went elsewhere and tried other methods to get better. I didn’t give up, I didn’t say poor me (even though at times that it is exactly what I was feeling), I picked myself up, put a smile on my face and tried something different. Eventually the shaking stop, the coordination started to return and I began to do the things that I was finding difficult to do.
Yes, life can be hard, even cruel at times, but don’t let those setbacks stop you from trying.
