Twilight comes quickly
for those who know,
when the veil is lifted
between uncertainty and fear,
when the night grows dark.
They see and feel it,
the change from within
where age creeps faster
and faith burrows deeper
shining out its’ beacon.
An awareness dawns,
awakening with the breaking
of the sun’s early rays,
that the light is eternal
even when not seen.
Even the moon shines;
a hopeful reminder
that it is never fully dark
where the faithful tread,
even in the unseen land.
The light may be obscured
when shadows fly free,
roaming to persuade
the lost and lonely;
trying to steal hope away.
Yet like the moon and sun
still shine behind the storm
always to return,
as if by proof
they exist, unseen for all.
The light rises in glory,
casting out darkness;
freeing all who embrace
the warmth and love
with open arms and heart.
Open your eyes,
and embrace the knowing
that all is not lost;
look upon it with anticipation,
when twilight comes quickly.
