Steer With Confidence

You are the captain of your vessel; steer with confidence.

If we are to succeed in life, we must recognize that we are responsible for ourselves and the actions we take towards that success. No one can do it for you.

It doesn’t matter how bad you want something; a desire without action provides no results. Other people may want to see you succeed, and they can offer you advice and guidance, but the action piece of the equation is solely up to you.

Many people dream about what they want to do or what they want to be, but that is all they do, dream. Dreaming without action leads to unhappiness. You become unsettled and disgruntled because you want more than what you have.

If you want something bad enough, you can find a way to make it happen. You must recognize that there is work that will go into it. You will need to set your goal, plan and then take concrete action towards reaching that plan.

Start by making a list of what you think you will need to do to reach your goal. Then, investigate to make sure you have not missed anything. This can include searching on the internet, watching instructional videos, or asking someone who has already succeeded in the same area.

Recognize that you may run into roadblocks or fail throughout your journey. Don’t give up. Look at your plan – it is your roadmap for success. Figure out where you went off course, then self-correct.

The wind may play a part in making the sail power the boat, but unless you steer and utilize it correctly, it is just wind. In fact, the wind can also capsize your boat if you don’t follow the proper procedures.

Don’t set yourself up for unhappiness or failure. Chart your course before starting out, and then steer with confidence.
