Do Not Put Up Roadblocks For Yourself

Do not put up roadblocks for yourself. Life is tough enough without us making it even more difficult for ourselves.

Sometimes we fail or struggle due to our own actions. We end up making choices or doing something that we know is right. Even though we know what we are about to do is not good for us, for whatever reason, we go ahead and do (or say) it anyhow.

There are many different kinds of roadblocks that we put along our path. Some prevent us from moving forward with a job, a relationship or with our enlightenment.

Self-Worth

Negative self-talk is a common roadblock for many. Lack of faith in yourself, telling yourself that you can’t do it, or you aren’t good enough, serves no purpose other than to stop yourself from moving forward.

Be kind to yourself. You are a child of this earth, ever-growing and learning. We become wise not from our successes but our failures.

Do not measure other people against yourself because you are unique. It is your uniqueness that makes you beautiful. You have a talent that is to be shared with the world. When you tap into that you will find your authentic self. When you live authentically you will be happier.

Failure to Launch

Many people are so tied up with the fear of failing that they do not start. Don’t let yourself get so consumed in the whole picture, break it down into manageable chunks. Start with something simple and then build from that.

Fear is just a door to the unknown. Yes, there are times we need to take caution for our physical safety but when your fear prevents you from moving forward you are, in reality, locking yourself inside.

It is through failure that we learn. Failing allows us to make changes and fix what is broken. It is an opportunity to make something strong.

Self-sabotage

Many are so afraid of getting what they want that they sabotage themselves. For some, it allows them to say ‘see, I was right’, for others it allows them to live n a constant state of struggle, a place where they are comfortable. It is surprising but some people are happy being unhappy.

Many times people just don’t have a picture of what their life would be like after they achieve their goal. The good news is that there is always something else to do or strive for.

Once you conquer your challenge do not worry about what will come next. There will be new things to discover, new roads to pursue. You may face obstacles but recognize that you can overcome the hurdles.

Life will always present us with some kind of struggle to overcome. This is how we grow and is normal. Whatever you do, don’t put roadblocks up for yourself.
