In The Dark of Night

In the dark of the night
my mind wanders
taking me down roads I dare not tread

In the dark of the night
the wind howls angrily
creating images of fear and dread

In the dark of the night
there is blackness
evil and thuggery fully at play

In the dark of the night
the sirens sound on
chasing the demons away

In the dark of the night
I am sleepless
reaching to turn on the light

No one can know
what goes on in mind
undercover, in the dark of night.
