Don’t Let Bad Times Get You Down

Don’t let bad times get you down

When times get rough, that is when we must shine brighter. Don’t let tough times get you down, rise instead.

It’s easy when things are bad to give up, to walk away from faith but that is exactly when you must gather your strength and hang on. Giving up is easy, not joyful at all, but it is the easy thing to do.

Strength and faith are what carry you through the tough times. We can always draw on God for our strength to endure. He is our armour and our shield. He is our support and helps us to stand when we are weak.

It takes courage to face the unknown; to walk the unknown path of ‘uncomfortableness’ often requires strength. These days have drawn on the courage of many around the world. No one knows when it will end, but it will end.

Courage requires a bit of bravery; to stand in the face of your challenge and say I will not let this destroy me. Instead, stand in the face of your struggle and say ‘I am strong enough and this can make me even stronger’.

Sometimes, what your strength lets you do is persevere, to just get through the situation until you come out the other side. When you recognize that your strength comes from God, say ‘thank you’, even if for just getting through one day.

If you are struggling and cannot find a way up or out, try helping someone else. You may be surprised to find that there are people worse off than you. This perhaps will help you put your own struggle in perspective. Realize it is not for ever. You have the power to change your circumstance, or at least your attitude.

It is easy to lean back and scream, or cry. Sometimes a good yell releases much when done in an empty field. It is better to pick yourself up, gather your courage, know that you are not alone and face your problem.

Being brave doesn’t mean making poor choices. Having faith doesn’t mean you don’t take necessary precautions. I see many say God will protect me so I don’t have to worry. God put the things and people in front of you so you can be protected. Using them is like saying ‘thank you’ and showing that you see Gods’ work. Rejecting them is childish, and in reality, it is turning your back on what God has put in front of you.

You will always have the choice to sit, fall or stand in the face of your trials. So, when times get tough have courage and be brave. Make the most of your situation and don’t let bad times get you down.
