Never Lose Your Sense of Wonder

Sometimes as we grow older, we get busy with everyday ‘stuff’. We go to work, clean house, maintain yards, raise children and life just rolls on along. We don’t always remember to stop and enjoy the little things; the everyday wonders that are presented to us.

When we are children, we see many things for the first time and we are continually amazed and joyful. Our parents get to share these experiences and it brings them joy. Why? Because they love our sense of wonderment. It reminds them of when they were young, they remember the joy they felt. The same goes for grandparents with grandchildren.

Take time in your day to be amazed. Remember what it was like to be your younger self who picked wild flowers, well, okay weeds, for your mother, or stopped to watch ants walking on the sidewalk. Then approach your day with eyes wide open, looking for things that will make you smile; a flower, a sunset, the song of a robin.

Whatever it is that brings you joy, never lose your sense of wonder.
