A Simple Conversation

Not all prayers need to be complex. The prayer below was written while I was spending a few days at the cottage this summer with people who mean so much to me. It is a simple conversation between myself and my maker, filled with love and gratitude in the moment.

Sometimes it is in the quiet moments, when life is simply unfolding that we need to stop and take a few minutes to appreciate what we have, and thank God for his glorious gifts.

The gift of life is precious, and often taken for granted. Each and every day there is something to be thankful for. Some days it is in the waking, others it is in the people, or quietness of the world. For each of us it may be different, but there is always something to be grateful for, even in those moments when things seem to be falling apart.

Never stop talking to God. He is your best friend, and confident when you welcome him into your life.

Prayer:

I sit in this serene place, listening as gentle waves lap the shore. How wonderfully unique and beautiful is this place where land meets water, and water meets land. Like her people, she is similar in space and time and yet holds a beauty all her own. A wonderful divine creation of the Master, wonderfully and uniquely made. Thank you for this blessing, Lord, and the gift of those who called me here. Glorious are your works.
