Choose Peace

A fight cannot exist if you choose to not participate in it.  It is not always easy to do this, especially in the heat of the moment, but if you recognize you are at a point where things are going to erupt, say to the other person ‘I need to step away and we can discuss this when we are both calmer.’  Then do just that.  Do not however put yourself in danger.  If you are in physical danger you must leave immediately or call the police.

There is so much violence these days on tv and social media, that people have become almost immune.  We should not, we should be shocked and angered, and work to reset the needle back toward non-violence.  I believe that many people get their ideas from watching others, if there was nothing to watch, perhaps, just perhaps, they might be influenced to turn toward peace.

Whatever you do, be an example of peace, when you do this you give others permission to do the same.

Psalm 34:14

Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
