Add a little colour to your world and you will be happier for it.
For most of us, when we are children we learn all about colours and we use crayons and coloured pencils to our hearts content. What we don’t learn is that there are more ways to colour your world than just crayons and coloured pencils. We know and see the different colours but the concept of putting them to use to liven up your life is not something taught. We learn it or we don’t.
So, what are the ways to add colour? Flowers is the easy answer as is ensuring you are eating plenty of colourful fruits and veggies. Give it some thought though, there are many more ways to make your life ‘pop’. Clothes are a great way to add a touch of colour as is painting (the adult version of colouring).
Music is also one. Surprised? Well anything that can be felt emotionally and can change your mood is colourful. It can brighten or darken your mood depending on what you feel when you listen to it. The same goes for literature; any book that can lift you up or tear you down changes the colour of your mood.
If you feel you are lacking colour when it comes to your mood, change your perspective so that you look at things in a positive note. Moods have colours, blue is sad, red is mad, white is peaceful, etc., so it should go without saying that if you want to have lovely bright and happy colours in your life you need to have a positive outlook.
People are my favourite way of adding colour into my life. Each person different, their own shade with their own stories, traditions, music and talents; all making my garden of friends lively and vibrant.
At the start of every day think about what you will do to make your day bright and cheery, not just for you but for others.
The power is all yours, so how will you add colour to your world?
