Ode to a Dear Friend

A light she shone,
so strong and bright,
for all of us to see.

She shared her love,
her self, her spirit;
what a gift for you and me.

She was our guide,
always leading us out,
of fear and misery.

She was our strength,
when we were weak;
such a gift for you and me.

So in her honour,
we will shine,
helping others as we go.

A living legacy,
for our dear friend;
oh, how we loved her so.

We have the torch,
you taught us well;
your legacy will live on.

In heaven now,
you shine so bright;
all your pain is gone.

One more angel,
in heaven above;
watching over you and me.

We’ll miss you now,
and ‘love you more’,
for all eternity.
